The additional net is removed when the third fruit setting appears and the plant reaches a height of about 50 cm (knee height). This usually occurs between 25-35 days after planting. It is important that the additional net not be removed on a day when there are hot winds or extreme temperatures and to check after removal of the net that the plants are not exposed to excessive heat. It is sometimes recommended to add an additional watering after removing the net, in order for the plants to acclimatize.
