· For single or cluster picking
· Suitable for long & short cropping cycles
· Suitable for grafting
Start fertilizing the crop after transplanting. The fertilizers should be applied with each irrigation and not alternate irrigations. This will help maintain consistent EC levels in the soil and allow for better absorption of the nutrients. The concentrations and quantities of the fertilizers in the irrigation water will vary according to the age of the plants and the growing conditions in the greenhouse.
Since Kilates has a very heavy fruit load, extra fertilizer may be required during the crop cycle. The harvest usually begins after pollination of clusters 6 & 7. At this point, the plants are carrying a very heavy fruit load and a 15-20% increase in fertilizers may be required to help the plant maintain proper vigor and balance and keep a strong growing head.

PPM = parts per million. Therefore, fertilizing with 50ppm of nitrogen means that for every cubic meter of water (1000 liters) there will be 50 grams of pure nitrogen.*Grams/ha/day of NPK for Kilates
1. Calcium & Magnesium: Check the level of calcium and magnesium in the water. In stage 1 of the crop there should be 80 ppm in the irrigation solution; in stage two - 100 ppm; in stages 3 & 4 – 120 ppm; and in stage 5 – 100 ppm. Magnesium levels are half the calcium levels.
2. Microelements: After the development of the third cluster, microelements should be applied continuously. These microelements include manganese, iron, copper, zinc, molybdenum and sometimes boron. A chelated mix should be used according to the manufacturer’s recommendations.
3. Iron in the form of a chelate suitable for the soil pH should be added in a separate irrigation once every two weeks at the rate of 5 kg/ha, starting after the fifth cluster has pollinated. It is very important to keep the head of the plant strong and green.
