Fruit Logistica 2008
This was the fourth time Zeraim Gedera exhibited at this trade fair. In 2007, we launched our A Sense of Taste campaign focusing on consumer needs. Last year, Israeli hip-hop group Shakatak brought the Sense, and this year, we chose a unique way to bring the Taste to our visitors, with delicious dishes prepared from our wide range of tomato and pepper varieties. In our booth, we tried to combine our brand message in multiple ways by exhibiting our product range by segment type, exploring the taste of our tomatoes and peppers, and showing an animated story of our brand on a large screen. In addition, the same elements were shown at Expo Sinlaoa in Mexico with a similar stand design and the same animated brand film. A large team of marketing managers, product managers and breeders met with some with well-known business partners and new contacts were made. FRUIT LOGISTICA 2008 exceeds high expectations
Record attendance: 50,000 trade visitors from 125 countries
A record number of visitors, the outstanding quality of the presentations and the presence of top-level decision-makers were the key characteristics of FRUIT LOGISTICA 2008. Some 50,000 trade visitors from 125 countries (2007: 43,000 from 120 countries) were in Berlin from 7 to 9 February for the most comprehensive international produce industry trade event ever. According to Messe Berlin COO Dr. Christian Göke, "FRUIT LOGISTICA 2008 exceeded our high expectations and has evolved into a premium product. The global market overview of the entire fruit industry value chain was presented in a more professional and comprehensive way than ever before".
Covering 81,000 sq. m of hall space (2007: 72,000 sq. m), 2,110 exhibitors (2007: 1,856) presented the full spectrum of the products and services required to ensure a year-round supply of top-quality fresh fruit and vegetables to consumers all over the world. 68 countries from all five continents were represented, including first-time appearances by Latvia, Madagascar and Uruguay. Around 88% of the exhibitors and three-quarters of the trade visitors at this year's trade fair came from outside Germany. 950 journalists from 50 countries reported on the trade fair activities in Berlin.
Exhibitors and trade visitors commended the presence of the industry's top decision-makers along with the excellent contacts to wholesalers and retailers, fruit and vegetable growers, and to import and export companies. 98% of the trade visitors said that their participation at the trade had a positive impact on business. Once again in 2008, FRUIT LOGISTICA attracted a substantial number of top decision-makers. Three-quarters of those present were managers of their own companies or directly responsible for procurement decisions.
