Ohad Zuckerman, President & CEO of Zeraim Gedera, an Israeli leading seed company, which is a subsidiary of Syngenta, withdraws from his position. Zuckerman (44) announced his secession, which will enter into effect as of April. Zuckerman will be replaced by Amnon Eshet, who works for the Company already 12 years and currently acts as its Executive VP Marketing & Sales. Zuckerman will continue supporting the Company's growth as a member of its Board of Directors. Zuckerman, a second generation of one of the founding families, started his way in the company as its marketing manager in 1989. In 2000 he was appointed as the company's CEO. Under his management and with the great efforts of the management team and employees, the company got out from a crisis in 2001 due to the collapse of the Turkish market and since then sales were multiplied 4 times fold. The Company finished 2006 with a 22% growth and 2007 with a 24% growth, becoming the number 1 vegetable seed supplier in the Israeli market. Ohad Zuckerman said: "During the 18 years I spent in Zeraim Gedera, 8 of which I served as its CEO, I was privileged to lead the team that turned it into a multi-national company and later on to a part of a global company. With the sale to Syngenta and the termination of the building of the merger strategy, I feel the company reached a safe harbor and that I can step down and start a new way, especially when I know I leave behind one of the best management teams in the industry. I was very pleased that Syngenta accepted my recommendation that Amnon, with whom I worked as a team for 12 years will replace me. Amnon is talented manager who knows very well the company and the vegetable seed industry and has fantastic connections with all the seed and produce industry leaders. I have no doubt that the company will continue its growth under his leadership within Syngenta".
