January 27th 2006 will be a date to remember for the Zeraim family world wide. On this special day, Zeraim Mexico opened his 3 hectare R&D Station, located in Mexico’s main intensive agricultural area, the grate Culiacan Valley. A vast and highly developed region, where technology had reached levels similar to those found in countries like Israel, Holland and Spain.
The first objectives of Zeraim Mexico R&D Station will be to aloud breeders and Product Managers to identify and select both hybrids and parental lines of different species; wish must be adapted not only to local weather conditions, but also to soil born diseases and viruses transmitted by different vectors.
As a second objective, Zeraim Mexico R&D Station enable to establish demonstration plots of the different species in order to expose them to local and foreign framers, as well as dealers.
Zeraim Mexico R&D Station must aloud the guest to experience an informative experience, since they can observe different cultivars grown both open field and under protected cultivation that will contribute substantially to their decisions in terms of varieties, date of planting, cultural labors among other aspects.
The Grand Opening was conducted by Mr. J.Luis Gonzalez Beristain (Mexico Operation Manager) who gave a warm welcome to Zeraim Gedera Directors, Israel Commercial Attach?, Federal Authorities, Dealers and Growers.
At the end of the ceremony and after a tour around the facilities, Zeraim Mexico personal offered lunch with a Mexican touch that was present not only in the food but also by the grate music preformed by local musicians called “mariachis”.
